Fertility, Prenatal & Postpartum Massage

Reproductive Health Massage: Welcome

Fertility Wellness Massage

Fertility massage is only performed during the follicular phase of the menstrual cycle (end of menses to ovulation). A fertility massage is designed as a protocol to enhance the chance of conception, either naturally or with an assisted source of reproductive technology. The fertility massage supports the body to cleanse of toxins, reduce stress hormones, balance hormones that aid in the reproductive system, and to stimulate reproductive organs. A fertility essential oil blend is also used to tonify the reproductive systems. Castor oil, placed of the abdomen, is also used to provide a cleansing affect.

Reproductive Health Massage: About

Prenatal & Postpartum Massage

Nurturing Wellness for Mama & Baby

Prenatal and Postpartum massage, also known as Pregnancy massage, is specifically designed to target areas of discomfort for mama and baby during pregnancy or in the 6 weeks after delivery.  Prenatal massage is different from other massage modalities due to the unique needs of comfort for mama and baby. But it goes so much farther than just comfort. There are unique needs physically to work on, and within, the many changes going on in a pregnant body. Virtually every system of her body has changes happening that massage can address. During the second and third trimester of pregnancy, massage is performed in side laying position to ensure safety and comfort. During the first trimester of pregnancy, it will be up to the expecting mother whether or not she is in side laying position depending on her comfortability. A mother can begin postpartum massage as soon as she feels comfortable. Special alterations for breastfeeding mothers can be made by providing a breast pillow while facedown.

According to The American Pregnancy Association, research shows prenatal massage therapy can help

  • reduce anxiety

  • decrease symptoms of depression

  • relieve muscle aches and joint pains

  • improve labor outcomes and newborn health.

In her book, Touch, Tiffany Fields, says that in at least three studies, massage therapy for pregnant women decreased stress hormones and lowered the prematurity rate.

The American Pregnancy Association says that studies have shown that postpartum massage helps

  • decreases stress

  • increase relaxation

  •  reliefs pain

  • helps with hormone regulation

  • decreases swelling

  • improves sleep

  • increases breastfeeding
